Doha Airport Closed — Qatar Flights Suspended

Developing Story|Last Updated: March 1, 2026 at 12:36 AM UTC

Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha has suspended all flight operations following Iran's IRGC missile attacks targeting Al Udeid Air Base nearby. Qatar Airways, one of the world's largest airlines, has grounded its entire fleet. The airport was handling approximately 150,000 passengers daily before the closure.

Qatar's position as a global aviation hub makes this closure particularly disruptive. Hamad International serves as a major connecting point between Europe, Asia, and Africa. Hundreds of transit passengers are stranded with no connecting flights available. Qatar Airways is coordinating with partner airlines for alternative routing.

The closure also impacts Qatar's liquefied natural gas exports, as LNG shipping coordination passes through Doha. Qatar is the world's largest LNG exporter, and any sustained disruption threatens European energy security.
